For those who want to lose weight, stop smoking, deal with phobias, improve their self-esteem and many others, Hypnotherapy is a great way to achieve their goals.   Clinical Hypnotherapy is not counseling, nor does it want to be.  Hypnotherapy was classified as a "brief therapy" by the APA years ago, and that's exactly what it is.  A standard Hypnotherapy program is 1-12 sessions depending on the application and the individual.  Counseling, on the other hand, is a longer therapy, and can require many years of work on the part of the therapist and the client.
